Over the weekend, 26 more foreign nationals were detained in Cyprus
Last Sunday, the police of the Republic of Cyprus continued their work to identify citizens of third countries who are residing illegally in the country. Police checks were conducted across the country.
During the control operation, police officers arrested 26 individuals of various nationalities who were illegally staying in the territory of the Republic of Cyprus. All of them were taken into custody. The police have already begun the procedure for their immediate repatriation in cooperation with other competent authorities.
Additionally, as part of an operation carried out at a hotel in Famagusta, two foreigners aged 28 and 25 were discovered. They were legally residing in the republic but were illegally working without permission from the competent authority. Both individuals were engaged in construction work.
Their 34-year-old employer was also detained. A case of illegal employment is being investigated against all three violators.
