The Russian Center for Science and Culture in the Republic of Cyprus has announced the extension of the acceptance of applications for participation in the third Pan-Cypriot Olympiad in the Russian language. The competition is intended for children from 6 to 16 years old: both for native speakers and for those learning Russian as a foreign language.
 
The theme of the third Olympiad was announced “Patriotism. Family. Traditions". To participate in the Olympiad, you must fill out a form according to the chosen category before November 29. Participation in the competition is free.
 
Categories:
A – native Russian speakers over 16 years of age.
B – students over 15 years of age who do not have Russian roots and are studying Russian as a foreign language (level A2+) in various educational centers of the Republic of Cyprus.
B – children from 6 to 10 years old with Russian roots.
B1 – children from 6 to 10 years old learning Russian as a foreign language.
G – children from 11 to 15 years old with Russian roots.
G1 – children from 11 to 15 years old learning Russian as a foreign language.
 
According to the competition task, participants in category A will write an essay of 300-400 words. The topic will be announced on December 9, 2023. The location and time of the event will be sent to participants who have successfully registered to their email address.

Participants in category B will take part in the Olympiad in two rounds: “writing” and “speaking”, both will be held on December 9.

To participate in the first round in category B, you must record a video in which the participant recites by heart one poem about family (2-4 quatrains) and draws his family. The email address for sending competition entries (video/link to video and photo) is [email protected]. All entries must be submitted by November 27th. The ten best entries will be announced on November 29, 2023.
  The second and final round of the Olympiad will take place on December 2, 2023. Finalists will receive a message about the time and place of the second round to their email address. At this stage, you will be asked to read the poem in front of the jury.

To participate in category B1, you must record a video in which the participant reads by heart one poem about family (2-4 quatrains) and draws his family. The email address for sending competition entries (video/link to video and photo) is [email protected].
All entries must be submitted by November 27th. The top ten will be announced on November 29, 2023.
The second round of the Olympics will take place on December 2. Participants who successfully complete the first round will receive an email about the time and place of the second round. Finalists will be asked to read the competition poem in front of the jury.

To participate in the first round in category D, you should record a video in which the participant reads by heart one poem about the homeland (from four to eight quatrains) and send it along with a drawing (of their homeland/historical moment in the history of the country) to the email address pioneercyprus@gmail .com. All entries must be submitted by November 27th. From all the competition entries, the jury will select the 10 best, which will be announced on November 29, 2023.
The second round of the Olympics will take place on December 2. Participants who successfully complete the first round become finalists. They will receive a message about the time and place of the second round in a personal letter to the email address left during registration. Finalists will be asked to read the competition poem in front of the jury.
 
To participate in the first round of the competition in category G1, you should record a video in which the participant reads by heart one poem about the homeland (4-8 quatrains) and send it along with a drawing (of their homeland/historical moment in the history of the country) to the email address pioneercyprus@gmail .com.
All entries must be submitted by November 27th. The ten best entries will be announced on November 29, 2023.
