Over 270 Illegal Migrants Departed from Cyprus in One Week
From January 9 to 15, 271 individuals who had been residing illegally on the island left Cyprus. In total, 10,098 foreign nationals were repatriated to their home countries in 2024 through official repatriation procedures.
The deportation of illegal migrants is part of an ongoing effort by the police to return third-country nationals to their countries of origin, either through voluntary return or forced repatriation.
Additionally, 170 more individuals were repatriated on Thursday, January 16, following a major operation carried out by the police in collaboration with the Foreigners and Immigration Service (YAM).
The police's efforts to increase the number of illegal residents being repatriated from the Republic of Cyprus continue on a daily basis.
