Famagusta Tennis Club
Description
During the English era in Cyprus, only a few people were tennis fans and played at the Famagusta Tennis Club. Tennis was an almost unknown sport and some players were considered crazy because in winter they walked the streets in white sports clothes, with wooden rackets and white balls. The first tennis court was built in early 1920 and was located in front of a small wood opposite the town's jury courts and was considered an English privilege.
