Traditional Cypriot Village of Kiti
Located 11 km southwest of Larnaca, the large coastal village of Kiti blends old and new. It is home to one of the finest examples of Byzantine art from the Justinian era on the island, as well as the best kite-surfing beach.
One of the most significant landmarks on the island is the Angeloktisti Church, which houses a rare 6th-century mosaic depicting the Virgin Mary and Jesus between two archangels. This mosaic is included in the UNESCO World Heritage tentative list.
The famous Softades Beach is the first and only beach on the island dedicated to windsurfing and kite-surfing. It offers some of the best sea and wind conditions in the Mediterranean, attracting enthusiasts of the sport and hosting world-class tournaments.
Kiti is also home to one of the four Venetian watchtowers in the region, which is included in thematic cycling routes.
