Statos-Agios Fotios is a mountain village in the Paphos region, surrounded by lush greenery, vineyards, and traditional farms. Below are the key details about the village and its main churches.

Statos-Agios Fotios

Statos-Agios Fotios is the most mountainous village in the Paphos region, located at an altitude of 913 meters above sea level, among the dense greenery of the Paphos Forest. Village location.

This is a traditional grape-growing area. Due to the elevation, grapes here ripen later than anywhere else in the region. The main varieties are Mavro, Xynisteri, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The streets of the village are charmingly lined with walnut trees.

Residents produce zivania, soutzoukos, raisins, as well as various dairy and meat products: cheese, sausages, and homemade preserves. These goods can be found at local fairs and small family shops.

The Churches of Statos-Agios Fotios

The village is home to five unique churches — each with its own history and characteristics:

  • Church of Saints Photios and Anicetus
  • Church of Saint George in the abandoned village of Agios Fotios
  • Church of Saints Zenobios and Zenobia
  • Church of Saint Barbara

The Christmas market operates from 22 November 2025 to 22 December — on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.

From 23 December 2025 to 6 January 2026 the Christmas market operates daily.
