The cost of a taxi from the western part of the island to the airport may surprise you, even though it seems close on the map and the road is a dual carriageway. While these expenses might be justified for a group, traveling alone makes using the bus more sensible.
The Güzelyurt – Ercan Airport route is operated by Kibhas. The travel time is about one hour, and the ticket price for one adult is 350 lira (as of early 2025).

The schedule states that passengers should arrive at the stops 10-15 minutes before departure from the terminal, but note that the website lists the departure time from the Lefke stop. In any case, it is more reliable to depart from the terminal at the Güzelyurt bus station.
After the Güzelyurt terminal, the bus stops at the campus of the Middle East Technical University and exits via the village of Kalkanlı (stop near Lavish Cafe). After hitting the highway, there is also a stop in the Gönyeli area, a suburb of Nicosia (near the Ir Mar supermarket). However, if you want to leave from here, it’s easier to do so from the center of Nicosia, where there are many more options, and tickets are 100 lira cheaper.

Tickets can be purchased either on-site before the bus departure (directly on the bus) or in advance on the website: kibhas.org.
Offline tickets can be purchased in advance at the ticket office of the Kibhas terminal at the Güzelyurt bus station.
