The cost of a taxi from the capital of Cyprus to the airport can be surprising, even though it seems close on the map. If traveling in a group, such expenses might be justified, but for solo travelers, it makes sense to use the bus.
The Nicosia – Ercan route is operated by the Kibhas company. The travel time is about one hour, and the ticket price for one adult is 250 lira (as of the end of 2024).

Before departing from the Kibhas terminal, the bus travels through the city, making several stops. These stops are marked in the schedule, and it is indicated that passengers should arrive at them 30–35 minutes before the departure from the terminal.
However, we do not recommend using these stops – it is more reliable to depart from the terminal at the bus station. Tourist reviews confirm that, for example, at the Kyrenia Gate stop, the bus might not stop. Nevertheless, we will list them in the schedule below, along with the points where the bus stops after leaving the terminal.

Buying a Bus Ticket from Nicosia to Ercan Airport
You can purchase the ticket either on-site before the bus departs (you can also buy it directly on the bus) or in advance on the website: kibhas.org.
Offline, tickets can be purchased in advance at the Kibhas terminal counter at the Nicosia bus station.
On the website, you first need to select the departure location and a specific seat on the bus.
Then, you need to specify the departure date and time, as well as the number of passengers (default is 1 person).
In the next step, provide your name, phone number, and email address. Please note that the ticket is sent as an SMS to the provided phone number.

This route is quite popular, so buses run at short intervals and operate 24/7. At night, intervals are, of course, longer, but overall, it's convenient to travel at any flight time.

It depends on the departure time and especially on traffic, but once you leave Nicosia for the highway, there shouldn't be any surprises. Night trips without traffic take about 40 minutes, but if departing during peak hours, plan for about an hour.

The bus arrives at the international departures terminal, on the second floor, practically at the entrance to the building. If you need the bus upon arrival, the ticket office is located on the first floor near the car rental offices after baggage claim. The stop itself is directly across the road where taxis also wait.
How much luggage can I take on the bus?
The free luggage allowance is two pieces, provided they do not exceed 30 kilograms in weight. For luggage exceeding the allowance, an additional fee applies.
