Northern Cyprus is a special territory, somewhat isolated from the rest of the world, but with many advantages and its own unique rhythm of life.

You can reach this part of the island only via Turkey, as there are no regular international flights. However, travelers have a wide choice of routes — flights depart from various cities in Turkey, not just Istanbul and Antalya. Below is a detailed list of airports and airlines operating flights to Ercan.

Istanbul

The main hub for flights to Northern Cyprus. Daily departures are available from both Istanbul New Airport (IST) and Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW) on the Asian side of the city.

Flights from Istanbul to Ercan are operated by Turkish Airlines, Pegasus, and A-jet (the latter from Sabiha Gökçen). There are up to 8–10 flights per day, making this route the most convenient for connections from Europe and Asia.

Antalya

From Antalya Airport, daily flights to Ercan are operated by Pegasus and Turkish Airlines. This is a popular route for travelers vacationing on Turkey’s southern coast, especially during the summer season.

Ankara

Daily flights from Ankara Esenboğa Airport (ESB) are operated by Pegasus, A-jet, and Turkish Airlines. The flight takes about 1 hour.

Izmir

From Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB), daily flights are operated by Pegasus and SunExpress. A convenient option for residents of the Aegean coast and tourists staying in Çeşme or Kuşadası.

Adana and Mersin

Flights operate to the new Çukurova Airport, located between Mersin and Adana. Pegasus, A-jet, and Turkish Airlines fly daily. The flight takes less than an hour, making it convenient for residents of southeastern Turkey.

Kayseri (Cappadocia)

From Kayseri Airport (ASR), the nearest to Cappadocia, flights to Ercan are operated by Pegasus Airlines four times a week. This is an excellent option for travelers who want to combine a Cappadocia tour with a trip to Cyprus.

Gaziantep

From Gaziantep (GZT), a city in southeastern Turkey, daily flights are operated by Pegasus. This route is popular among students and residents of nearby regions.

Diyarbakır

From Diyarbakır (DIY), a major city in eastern Turkey, flights operated by Pegasus run three times a week. During the winter season, the frequency of flights may decrease.

Additionally, flights from other cities, such as Trabzon (Turkish Airlines, A-jet), may be available during certain periods. In winter, routes may be reduced, so it’s recommended to check the current schedule before booking tickets.
