The entertainment industry on the island is still developing and a discerning cinema lover should understand that the level of the local film industry is very modest. New films appear on the screens of the TRNC cinemas much later than in London, Berlin or Paris. The films are mostly shown in Turkish dubbing, but sometimes you can get an English-language.
Cinemas can be found in Northern Cyprus only in the major cities of Lefkosa, Famagusta, Girne, and Guzelyurt. Iskele residents still have to travel to Famagusta to see films in the cinema.
