13th State Competition and Exhibition of Young Artists in Girne

The 13th State Competition and Exhibition of Young Artists, organized by the Department of Culture under the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment, is now presented in Girne after Gazimağusa and Nicosia.
According to the Department of Culture, the aim of the project is to support young creators and give them an opportunity to present their works to a wider audience. The exhibition will be open until December 5 in the exhibition hall of the Kyrenia Public Library during working hours.
The exhibition features:

Mert Şardu’s work “The Goddess’s Dreams”, awarded the Achievement Prize;

the piece “Hecate”, which received the Special Award of the Department of Culture;

Burcu Beyzade’s work “Zamana Karşı”, awarded the Ali Atakan Special Prize;
-
İlgen Uğurlu’s work “Umut”, which received the Ayhan Menteş Special Prize.
In addition, selected works on display include:

Kerime Erge Şahin’s pieces “Kor”, “Taşma”, “Heba”;

Direnç Betmezoğlu’s work “40. Gün”;
-
as well as İlgen Uğurlu’s works “Çıkış” and “Sorgu”.
The jury included: İnci Cansu, Mümine Özdemirağ Yağlı, Nilgün Güney, Osman Keten, Türksal İnce, and Zehra Şonya.
The exhibition was first presented on May 19 as part of the events dedicated to the Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day — at the Rauf Raif Denktaş Congress Center in Gazimağusa. In July the exhibition was moved to the Atatürk Cultural Center in Nicosia.
