Importance of supporting people with Down syndrome highlighted in Cyprus
Former Minister of Labour and Social Security Sadık Gardiyanoğlu issued a statement on the occasion of World Down Syndrome Day, observed on March 21.
He emphasized the importance of equality and inclusion in society, noting that people with Down syndrome should be part of all spheres of life, rather than only being remembered on special dates.
Gardiyanoğlu also recalled projects implemented during his tenure aimed at supporting people with disabilities — specifically, the development of employment programs and improving conditions in rehabilitation centers.
According to him, such initiatives help people with Down syndrome to be more active and visible in society.
