Accident in Güzelyurt: car hit an electrical transformer and crashed into two shops
Last night, a serious traffic accident occurred on Kutlu Adalı Avenue. According to preliminary reports, an out-of-control car first struck an electrical transformer and then crashed into two commercial premises, causing significant material damage.
Eyewitnesses reported that the vehicle, having lost control, collided with the transformer, destabilizing it. Afterwards, the car continued moving and literally “smashed” into the facades of two nearby businesses. Both establishments suffered: their internal infrastructure was disrupted, the entrance areas were damaged, and apparently the goods displayed in the shop windows were also affected.
Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene — however, reports note that in the morning the debris was still lying at the crash site, creating additional inconvenience and risks for residents. While law enforcement authorities investigate the incident, locals expect a swift cleanup and restoration of power supply.
The police confirmed the accident and stated that an official investigation has already been launched. It is being clarified whether the driver remained behind the wheel, whether other people were injured, and how the damaged facilities will be restored.
