Buse Savaşkan Sets Personal Record and Advances to Olympic Final
A TRNC athlete performed successfully in the high jump qualifying round at the Olympic Games in Paris. Buse Savaşkan set a personal record and advanced to the final round of the tournament.
The qualification took place at the Stade de France. The Turkish Cypriot athlete, representing Turkey at the Olympics, cleared the initial height of 1.83 meters on her first attempt, then 1.88 meters. She conquered the next height of 1.92 meters on her second attempt.
Although she could not clear the 1.95-meter mark, her performance allowed her to set a personal record and advance to the Olympic final, ranking among the top 12 athletes in the tournament.
The final round of the competition will take place on Sunday, August 4, at 20:55.
