Veterinary Department Inspects TRNC Businesses for Sanitary Violations
The Veterinary Department has conducted inspections across multiple businesses in the TRNC, uncovering several violations. As a result, the operations of one company have been suspended, and criminal charges have been filed against another for fraudulent oil production.
From March 6 to 13, the department checked four large livestock farms, five dairy production facilities, two meat processing plants, an egg packaging company, a poultry slaughterhouse, and 16 butcher shops.
Following the inspections, one company was suspended due to insufficient hygiene standards, though the company’s name has not been disclosed.
The department also collected samples for testing, including eight batches of halloumi cheese, ten varieties of oil, as well as samples of kashkaval, ayran, and yogurt.
