A New Year’s lunch organized for young people with special needs in Northern Cyprus
On December 25, 2025, a New Year’s lunch was organized at Elysium Park in Northern Cyprus for young people with special needs. The event was held by the Mare Monte Entrepreneurs-Philanthropists Association with the support of Elysium Park and the Gönyeli Municipality.
The lunch was attended by young people visiting rehabilitation centers for individuals over 18 in Güneşköy, Famagusta, and Kyrenia, as well as residents of the Barrier-Free Life House in Demirhan, supervised by the Department of Social Services.
The ceremony was attended by the Prime Minister’s spouse Ünal Üstel, Minister of Labor and Social Security Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu, Mayor of Gönyeli Hüseyin Amcaoğlu, ministry director Berna Bayur, and Director of the Department of Social Services Alev Ecevit.
The Chairwoman of the Mare Monte Association, Zekiye Davman, noted the organization’s readiness to continue supporting the participation of young people in public life. Alev Ecevit thanked the participating institutions and described those present and their mentors as one big family.
The Mayor of Gönyeli emphasized the importance of social projects in the work of the municipality. Minister Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu and Ünal Üstel expressed their gratitude to everyone who contributed to the organization and congratulated the young people on the upcoming year.
