Roads in TRNC still closed after the storm: list of alternative routes
Efforts continue in Northern Cyprus to address the aftermath of the powerful storm that hit the country in recent days. Some roads in Famagusta and Kyrenia are still closed to traffic.
The police have provided a list of alternative routes. According to the police press office, as of 07:30 on January 31, four roads remain closed.
In the Kyrenia area, due to the overflow of the Gecitkoy stream, the main road from Camlibel to Girne is closed – specifically the section between the Camlibel - Tepebasi and Kayalar intersections.
The main road from Kayalar to Sadrazamkyoy is closed to traffic due to the accumulation of mud, murky water, and sharp stones on the road.
In the Famagusta area, the main road from Atlilar to Yildirim is closed due to rainwater, with traffic diverted to the Akova - Yildirim or Alanic - Yildirim roads.
Additionally, the main road from Murataga to Sandallar remains closed. An alternative route for this is the Alanic - Murataga highway.
