A traffic accident in Güzelyurt led to the detention of two people in a drug-related case

In Güzelyurt, a road traffic accident led to the discovery of alleged drug-related facts. The incident occurred yesterday at around 07:00 on Halim Şahin Street.
After the accident, the suspicious behavior of the vehicle’s driver, Y.D. (44 years old), attracted the attention of police officers. During a search of the vehicle, a cigarette butt with a burnt end was found, inside which, according to the police, there was a narcotic substance. The car also contained 22,800 Turkish lira in cash, which is believed to have been obtained from the sale of drugs. All discovered items were seized as material evidence.
As part of the further investigation, the police searched the residence of a second suspect — S.C. (41 years old), who is believed to be connected to the case. Three more cigarette butts with burnt ends, also allegedly containing a narcotic substance, were found in the house and seized.
Both men have been detained. The investigation is ongoing.
