Two Traffic Accidents in Famagusta and Ozanköy: Two Injured, One Arrested
Two separate traffic accidents occurred in Famagusta and Ozanköy in Northern Cyprus, resulting in two injuries and the arrest of one driver on suspicion of drunk driving.
According to police reports, early this morning on Mustafa Kemal Boulevard in Famagusta, Mürsel Bektaş (58), driving vehicle LA 358, failed to yield the right of way while turning and collided with a car driven by Nejla Fares (19), plate ZE 634. The impact sent the second vehicle onto the median. Nejla Fares was treated at Famagusta Hospital and later discharged. Mürsel Bektaş was arrested after testing positive for alcohol (161 mg).
In Ozanköy yesterday, electric bicycle rider Adnan Ullah (40) lost control and crashed into a parked car (SR 126). He was transported to Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in Nicosia with a fractured left arm. Investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
