Two hot-air balloons with tourists crashed in the Ihlara Valley
Two hot-air balloons that took off from Ihlara Valley in the Güzelyurt area of Aksaray crashed for unknown reasons near Gözlükköy.
According to preliminary information, one person died and 19 were injured.
After the incident, police, ambulance, fire brigade and AFAD units were deployed to the region.
The injured were taken by ambulance to the Aksaray Training and Research Hospital.
Aksaray Governor Mehmet Ali Kumbuzoğlu stated that as a result of the accident the balloon pilot died. He fell out of the basket because his legs got entangled in a rope. Meanwhile, 19 Indonesian tourists were rescued but were injured. They are currently undergoing medical examination.
