Electronic Labeling System for Goods in Northern Cyprus to Launch on February 1, 2025
The Ministry of Economy and Energy of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) has announced the implementation of an electronic labeling system, which will take effect on February 1, 2025.

According to the details provided in the official circular, product shelf labels will be required to display the product name, barcode, retail price, the date of the last price update, and the product's country of origin. Some technical specifications of the upcoming electronic labeling system have also been shared.
Previously, TRNC's Minister of Economy and Energy, Olgun Amcaoğlu, confirmed that the preparations for the introduction of the electronic labeling technology in Northern Cyprus are now complete.
The minister emphasized that the new system aims to provide better oversight of the retail market, which is closely tied to the annual import value of approximately 2.5 billion dollars.
