Ercan: flights continue despite heavy rain
At Ercan Airport in Northern Cyprus, air traffic continued on December 9 despite heavy rainfall, reported Kıbrıs Postası. According to the publication, some flights were diverted to other airports or departed at times different from the scheduled ones.
Airport representatives noted that route deviations and delays were due to weather conditions and are standard procedures in such situations. It was also stated that the airport remained open and operations continued in a controlled manner.
Information is limited to official statements: exact numbers of delayed or diverted flights are not provided. Similar measures under adverse weather conditions have previously been applied at other airports in the region.
For residents and passengers, this means that under unfavorable weather conditions in Northern Cyprus, flight schedules and routes may change; however, the airport remains open and operational activities are maintained under control.
