KTFF Suspends Operations of Miracle Değirmenlik SK
The Board of Directors of the Cyprus Turkish Football Federation (KTFF) has decided to suspend the operations of Miracle Değirmenlik SK. The election of the club's current president has been declared invalid, and all transactions and match results for the 2024-2025 season have been annulled.
“The KTFF Board of Directors has ruled all transactions made by the club as invalid, as they were conducted by unauthorized individuals, and has decided to suspend the club’s registration for the 2024-2025 season. Furthermore, all points earned by Değirmenlik SK in the first half of the KTFF Super League 2024/2025 have been nullified, and the upcoming matches will be considered void,” the federation said in its statement.
This decision affects three matches played earlier this year, all of which ended in losses for Değirmenlik SK, with scores of 0-3:
- M. Değirmenlik SK – Yenicami (0:3)
- Değirmenlik SK – Doğan Türk Birliği SK (0:3)
- Gönyeli SK – Değirmenlik SK (3:0)
In addition, an objection filed by DND L. Gençler Birliği SK against Yenicami AK was also dismissed. KTFF has ruled that any unplayed matches involving Değirmenlik SK will be recorded as technical losses.
The controversy surrounding the club was first revealed in mid-February when a letter from the Nicosia district governor to the sports club mentioned the initiation of an investigation into potential legal violations by the club’s leadership.
Reports from local media indicate that the federation expressed particular concerns over the club's management structure. It is believed that the club's chairman had legal issues in the past that should have disqualified him from holding the position. Last year, Miracle Değirmenlik SK won a division in the TRNC championship.
It was also previously reported that Isaac Drogba, the son of football legend Didier Drogba, was set to join Miracle Değirmenlik SK to continue his career.
