The Federation of Turkish Trade Unions of Cyprus marked its 71st anniversary
The Federation of Turkish Trade Unions of Cyprus (TÜRK-SEN) marked the 71st anniversary of its founding, the organization reported. Established on December 14, 1954, the federation issued its anniversary statement on December 15, 2025.
In its statement, TÜRK-SEN emphasized that for 71 years it has continued to defend the interests of its members and the working class in Northern Cyprus. The organization stated that it serves as the voice of Turkish Cypriots in the country and on international platforms, upholding the principle of free and democratic thinking.
The federation noted that its main priorities remain the protection of workers and the support of peace. TÜRK-SEN highlighted its regular cooperation with affiliated trade unions and other domestic organizations in organizing actions and human rights initiatives.
The press release also stated that the federation has contributed to the development of relevant legal regulations and will continue to take part in the labor struggle at all levels. The organization expressed gratitude to all leaders and members who have worked for the benefit of the federation and respectfully commemorated those who gave their lives for the movement.
TÜRK-SEN congratulated its members on the anniversary and at the same time extended wishes of well-being and good health to all workers and residents of Northern Cyprus in the coming new year.
