Farmers in Karpaz Complain Again about Donkeys Damaging Crops
The population of donkeys in Karpaz, Northern Cyprus, is increasing. A local farmer captured on camera how 10 animals destroyed his crops.
Mustafa Talay, a resident of Karpaz, expressed his frustration on social media. According to the farmer, around 10 donkeys entered his field and damaged the crops. The man recorded the animals trampling the crops on his mobile phone.
“Who will take care of these donkeys? Our efforts are in vain. Donkey lovers or animal lovers, where are you?” the farmer complained.
According to Kıbrıs Postası, which highlighted the situation with stray animals, the donkey population in Northern Cyprus is growing annually. They are increasingly causing damage to fields, and in some places, they even stray beyond Karpaz.
Local authorities and animal welfare activists are taking precautionary measures to prevent the excessive spread of donkeys and ensure the protection of animals.
