Fikri Ataoğlu: Northern Cyprus to continue promotion in various regions of Turkey

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu stated that Northern Cyprus will soon continue active promotional campaigns in various regions of Turkey.
Speaking at the opening of the 29th International Tourism Exhibition EMITT – Eastern Mediterranean in Istanbul, Ataoğlu honored the memory of those who died in the February 6, 2023 earthquake, including representatives from Cyprus, emphasizing the importance of preventing such tragedies in the future.
According to him, Northern Cyprus is a country that cannot be understood through stories alone—it must be seen and experienced. The minister thanked the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey for its contribution to organizing the exhibition, as well as Turkish Airlines and Pegasus Airlines for supporting joint projects aimed at developing tourism and reducing airfare costs.
Ataoğlu noted that the tourism sector in TRNC is developing comprehensively, including medical tourism, and is no longer limited to the summer season, covering the entire year.
He also mentioned that work continues in Turkey to establish Northern Cyprus cultural centers in Antalya, Istanbul, and Ankara, where Cypriot culture, gastronomy, and traditions are planned to be promoted.
The minister emphasized that such initiatives play an important role in the international promotion of Northern Cyprus and in strengthening tourism ties with Turkey.
