French teacher Filiz Soyer has been awarded the “Academic Palm” order

One of the most renowned French-language teachers in Northern Cyprus, Filiz Soyer, received the Knight’s Order of the “Academic Palm” from the French state. The award ceremony took place on 28 November at the residence of the French Embassy, where Ambassador Mme Clélia Chevrier Kolačko personally presented the distinction to the teacher.
The ambassador highlighted Soyer’s long-standing contribution to promoting the French language and culture in Cyprus, calling the order “one of France’s most prestigious awards for figures in education and culture.”
Filiz Soyer herself said that she sees the award not as the end of a journey, but as the beginning of a new stage and an even greater responsibility towards young people and colleagues.
