AI system identifies a wanted vehicle in Northern Cyprus for the first time

During the presentation of the project “Smart Transport System — electronic control and smart intersections,” one of the inspected vehicles was flagged by the Radarsan system as “suspicious.” It was later confirmed that the vehicle had been reported stolen and was wanted.
The artificial intelligence of the cameras instantly read the license plate, matched it against central databases, and automatically detected the match.
Authorities noted that the system is designed not only for speed control: it recognizes license plates, analyzes vehicles, and transmits encrypted data to the police in real time, helping them respond more quickly to security threats.
According to officials, the project will enhance both road safety and overall public safety.
