Due to a heavy downpour, planes couldn't land at Ercan Airport
On Wednesday afternoon, strong rainfalls hit Northern Cyprus. The heavy rainfall disrupted air traffic at Ercan Airport.
The rain prevented several planes from landing at TRNC's air hub. Due to the inclement weather, airliners couldn't land on schedule and had to circle above Northern Cyprus for some time.
According to the online departure board of Ercan Airport on the Flightradar service website, flights of Turkish Airlines, Pegasus, and the new low-cost carrier AJet arriving on the island after 3:00 PM from Adana, Izmir, Istanbul, and Ankara were affected. On average, flights were delayed by approximately 30 minutes.
It's worth noting that several evening flights also arrived at Ercan Airport with delays. Today, clear weather without precipitation is expected in Northern Cyprus.
