Due to snowfall in Istanbul, AJet and Pegasus flights have been canceled, including routes to ERCAN

In Istanbul, due to adverse weather conditions and snowfall, the number of flights from Sabiha Gökçen Airport has been reduced. The airport authority (HEAŞ) announced a 15% reduction in flight operations.
According to the official statement, the restrictions will be in effect throughout the day on January 18 and 19, 2026. The decision was made based on warnings from the Turkish Meteorological Service about severe weather conditions in the region.
Mass flight cancellations
Airlines AJet and Pegasus have already confirmed the cancellation of a number of flights.
- AJet reported the cancellation of 38 flights departing from and arriving at Sabiha Gökçen Airport.
- Pegasus is also canceling flights in line with the decision of the Meteorological Emergency Committee.
Passengers are advised to check their flight status via the official websites and mobile applications of the airlines.
Cancellations of Sabiha Gökçen – Ercan flights
The situation has also directly affected Northern Cyprus.
Pegasus canceled:
- flight PC 1928 (January 18) Istanbul – Ercan
- flight PC 1911 (January 19) Ercan – Istanbul
AJet canceled the following flights:
- VF 167 (January 18)
- VF 165, VF 153, VF 167 (January 19) Istanbul – Ercan
- VF 168 (January 18)
- VF 154, VF 166, VF 168 (January 19) Ercan – Istanbul
Authorities and airlines warn that the list of cancellations may expand if weather conditions worsen.
