The Turkish Cypriot Red Crescent collected over 5,000 blood donations in a year

The Turkish Cypriot Red Crescent summarized its work for 2025. According to official data, 5,386 units of donor blood were collected during this period, representing an important contribution to the country’s healthcare system.
Blood collection was carried out in cooperation with government institutions, municipalities, universities, NGOs, and volunteers. A significant part of the donation campaigns took place both in medical facilities and through outreach campaigns across Northern Cyprus.
The organization emphasized that regular donor programs ensure hospitals are supplied with necessary blood stocks in a timely manner, especially in emergencies and for surgeries. An increase in public awareness and citizen participation in the donor movement was also noted.
Representatives of the Red Crescent expressed gratitude to all donors and stated that efforts to recruit new participants and expand donor programs will continue in 2026.
