The Commission for Determining the Minimum Wage in the TRNC will meet on Friday
The meeting of the commission to determine the minimum wage in Northern Cyprus will take place on Friday at 10:00. The negotiations at the negotiating table are discussing an increase of more than 50%.
The Minister of Labor and Social Security of the TRNC, Sadyk Gardiyanoglu, the President of the Federation of Free Labor, Ahmet Serdaroglu, and the representative of the Employers' Union, Ali Bashman, reported this on the "14th Hour" program.
A special invitation will be sent to all interested parties.
- Currently, the cost of living is 50.3%. We will discuss an increase above 50%. In other words, we will discuss the cost of living plus the percentages that will be paid. All our efforts are directed towards ensuring that all workers reach a decent minimum wage," said Ahmet Serdaroglu.
According to Ali Bashman, with a 50% increase, the net minimum wage will reach 23,500 or 24,000 Turkish liras.
The Minister of Labor and Social Security of the TRNC noted that the meeting on the minimum wage issues is scheduled for Friday at 10:00.
Consultations with stakeholders on this issue are ongoing. Almost everyone agrees on the cost of living.
- If we cannot obtain conclusions and finally agree on them by Friday, I want to definitively determine the minimum wage no later than the following Tuesday," said Sadyk Gardiyanoglu.
