Lefkoşa Belediye Tiyatrosu opened the season on the renovated Bandabuliya stage

Lefkoşa Belediye Tiyatrosu opened the renovated Bandabuliya stage with the first performance of the play “Bir İhtimal Kabare”, written and directed by Aliye Ummanel. The premiere was attended by the Mayor of Lefkoşa, Mehmet Harmancı, and members of the municipal council.
The action of “Bir İhtimal Kabare” takes place in Lefkoşa between 1958 and 1963 and transports the audience into the imaginary cabaret reality of that time. Against the backdrop of real historical events, the play tells the story of attempts “to hold together and not fall apart”, showing that people of different ethnic backgrounds can live side by side not despite, but together with their differences. Through characters trying to preserve the cabaret and their place in the city, the performance reimagines possible turns of history.
The play is staged with the support of Major Music Center. The second performance will take place on December 15 at 20:00, and starting from January, “Bir İhtimal Kabare” will be performed on Mondays. Tickets are available at the Lefkoşa Belediye Tiyatrosu box office.
