Legendary Footballer Ronaldinho Arrives in Northern Cyprus
Famed footballer Ronaldinho has touched down in the TRNC for a special visit. The two-time FIFA World Player of the Year landed at Ercan Airport on Thursday evening.

The global football icon is in the TRNC to attend the "International Summit Awards" ceremony, organized by the Turkish media group Pars International. The event is set to take place at a hotel in Çatalköy.
Local media snapped photos of Ronaldinho as he strolled through the airport’s arrival hall. Upon disembarking, he was greeted with a bouquet of flowers.
During his illustrious career, the 44-year-old Brazilian forward claimed numerous accolades, including winning the FIFA World Cup in 2022, securing the Ballon d'Or in 2005, and twice being named FIFA World Player of the Year in 2004 and 2005.
Ronaldinho’s storied career saw him play for top clubs such as Brazil’s Grêmio, Flamengo, Atlético Mineiro, and Fluminense, as well as Europe’s Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona, and AC Milan, and Mexico’s Querétaro.
He officially retired from professional football in 2015.
