Workplace Health Improvement Project Launched in Northern Cyprus
As part of the European Union Aid Programme for the Turkish Cypriot community, the "Workplace Movement" project, implemented by the Cyprus Turkish Physiotherapists Association, was presented.
The project is scheduled for 30 months and aims to create a healthier and more active work environment using physiotherapeutic approaches. It is planned to train approximately 1,800 employees in office and industrial sectors.
Project Coordinator Tegiye Birey noted that the initiative also aims to strengthen the organization's institutional capacity and develop strategic partnerships. Batuhan İ. Dericioğlu, Chairman of the Association, emphasized that the program will cover a wide range of workers—from office staff to industrial workers—and help reduce loss of work capacity.
European Commission representative Florin Mihai Stoleru stated that the project was inspired by a previously implemented initiative supporting spinal health in schoolchildren, now applying those principles to the field of employment.
Following the official part, a seminar on "Worker Health and Modern Approaches in Physiotherapy" was held.
