Mayors of TRNC Cities Participate in Environmental Exhibition in Munich
A delegation from the Union of Turkish Cypriot Municipalities visited the major tourism fair IFAT-2024 in Munich.
The delegation, which participated in the “IFAT Munich 2024” fair focusing on environmental technologies, included representatives from the Union of Turkish Cypriot Municipalities. Mayors from municipalities such as Nicosia, Güzelyurt, Iskele, Kyrenia, Lapta-Alsancak-Camlibel, Geçitkale-Serdarli, Catalköy-Esentepe, Dikmen, Mesarya, Lefke, and other municipalities of TRNC.
The fair is globally recognized as one of the most significant events in environmental management, sustainable development, and waste management.
IFAT showcased innovations aimed at the long-term utilization of existing resources to protect and enhance the quality of life and the environment. It brought together the latest innovations and policy interests in environmental technologies.
Critical discussions on the future of hydrogen technologies, topics like the circular economy, the European Green Deal, and climate change took place at the fair. Throughout the event, the latest developments in environmental technologies were presented, and opportunities for international cooperation were offered. Mayors attending the fair also had the chance to explore the latest technological innovations and their applications, as well as exchange experiences.
After the exhibition concluded, the TRNC delegation returned to the island.
