Meteorologists warn: tomorrow heavy rains and thunderstorms are expected in Northern Cyprus
The Cyprus Meteorological Service has published the weekly weather forecast for the period from 9 to 15 September. According to the report, short showers and thunderstorms are expected in some areas on Tuesday.
Meteorologists explain that at the beginning of the week the weather will be influenced by a weak barometric low and cool, humid air in the upper layers of the atmosphere. In the following days, the influence of warmer and more humid air masses is expected.
On Tuesday afternoon, cloud cover will increase, with local short rains and thunderstorms possible. From midweek until the end of the forecast period, mostly clear or partly cloudy weather is expected.
Temperatures will remain above seasonal norms. In inland areas, thermometers will rise to 34–37 °C, while on the coast — to 30–33 °C.
The wind will be mainly from the south and west, light to moderate. During showers, brief gusts of strong wind are possible.
Meteorologists urge residents to take the forecast into account when planning trips and to exercise caution during possible thunderstorms.
