Daily Sea Bus Route to Launch Between Mersin and Kyrenia
Istanbul Sea Buses (IDO) is launching a new daily sea bus service between the Turkish port of Taşucu in Mersin and Kyrenia (Girne) in Northern Cyprus. The new route is expected to boost regional development, tourism, and cultural exchange.
According to IDO’s statement, the service will begin on Tuesday, May 27, and operate daily throughout the summer season, ending on September 28, 2025. The first departure from Taşucu is scheduled for 2:00 PM, with the sea bus expected to arrive in North Cyprus in approximately three hours. Return trips from Kyrenia will depart at 10:00 AM and arrive in Mersin around 1:00 PM.
IDO General Manager Dr. Murat Orhan highlighted that this new line will not only improve transportation links but also contribute to tourism growth, job creation, and stronger cultural connections between the two regions.
