International Tournaments in the TRNC Attract Over 20,000 Tourists

The 2024 European Poker Tournament, held for the second time at the Merit Royal Diamond Hotel, attracted 6,000 tourists from 76 countries. This marks an increase from last year, when 5,000 participants traveled to the TRNC for the same tournament.

International events like the European Poker Tournament, hosted by Merit Hotels, have made a substantial contribution to both the economy and the global recognition of the TRNC.

In addition to the European Poker Tournament, Merit Hotels organized several other prestigious international championships.

The Western Tournament brought together players from 60 countries, while the Backgammon Tournament saw participants from 25 countries. The MPP Tournament welcomed players from 75 countries. Other notable tournaments included the Dolce Vita Tournament with participants from 24 countries, the Cash Game Festival with 40 countries represented, Pokerstar with 75 countries, and the GATSBY Tournament with players from 59 countries.

Altogether, these tournaments hosted around 9,000 participants. Combined with other events, the total number of visitors for all tournaments exceeded 20,000.
