Minimum Wage in TRNC Increased: Government Support Payments Begin

Labor Minister Hasipoğlu reminded that the Minimum Wage Determination Commission approved an 18.39% increase — up to 60,618 lira gross and 52,738 lira net. Additionally, the ministry added extra government support, bringing the total assistance to 22.9%.
From today, employees effectively receive 58,738 lira in their accounts.
According to the minister, TRNC citizens whose insurance contributions are paid based on the minimum wage will receive financial support of 12,000 lira. Payments are made in two stages:
- 6,000 lira — in February
- 6,000 lira — in March
The first part of the support, 6,000 lira, began being transferred this afternoon via the Employment Support Center Fund. The funds will reach recipients today and tomorrow morning.
About 2,500 people have not yet received payments due to incomplete insurance contributions for November and December. They have the right to file an objection:
- in person — at regional branches of İhtiyat Sandığı;
- online — via the İhtiyat Sandığı web portal.
Payments will also be made after objections are reviewed.
