Ministry of Finance of the TRNC: severance payments have been made in accordance with court decisions
The Ministry of Finance of the TRNC in Northern Cyprus announced on December 17, 2025, that all severance payments to employees who initiated legal proceedings and won their cases were made on time, in the prescribed manner, and in compliance with court rulings.
The ministry’s statement notes that the necessary administrative decisions were taken to fulfill obligations under the Law on Salaries and Other Payments of Public Servants, and that the central government budget for 2026 includes the relevant appropriations.
The Ministry emphasized that media reports about the filing of “mandamus” lawsuits or the issuance of decisions on such cases are not true. It was also stated that claims by trade unions about a “victory” in these cases are misleading the public.
The department stated that all court decisions are being respected, due attention is being paid to their execution, and employees’ rights are guaranteed by the state. Payments will be made in full within the framework of the rule of law and financial discipline.
