Transport Minister Inspects Roadworks on Iskele–Bogaz and Karpaz–Monastery Routes
Minister of Public Works and Transport Erhan Arıklı announced that he, along with the Prime Minister and several Cabinet members, conducted an inspection of road projects in the Iskele–Bogaz and Karpaz–Monastery sections.
According to him, work on the remaining 4.5 km of the Karpaz–Monastery road was suspended due to unfavorable weather conditions but will resume on Tuesday. Construction is expected to be completed within a few weeks. The Minister noted that the road to the monastery, which he claims had not been renovated for about 50 years, will be finished during the current government's term.
Once the work in the Karpaz direction is finished, the equipment will be moved to the Iskele road, where the project is also expected to be completed in the coming weeks.
Regarding the Iskele–Bogaz highway, Arıklı stated that due to injunctions obtained by some landowners, it is impossible to widen the road to four lanes as originally planned. In those specific areas, it will only be widened by a few meters, while on the remaining sections, the work will proceed according to the plan.
The Minister thanked the Prime Minister, government members, MPs, and mayors for their support.
