Ministry Warns of Fraudulent SMS Sent in the Name of Turkish Highways Department
The Ministry of Public Works and Transport of the TRNC has warned citizens about fraudulent SMS messages being sent in the name of the General Directorate of Highways of Turkey (Karayolları Genel Müdürlüğü).
The statement notes that messages are coming from numbers with a +44 code or other foreign codes, containing payment demands and links to websites. The Ministry emphasizes that these messages are phishing attempts. Citizens are urged not to trust such messages, avoid clicking on links, and never share personal or financial data.
