Young People from Turkey and Azerbaijan to Gather in North Cyprus
Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Ünal Üstel, recently met with Ramil Hasan, a member of Azerbaijan’s New Azerbaijan Party. During the meeting, it was announced that North Cyprus will host a youth summit on May 14, bringing together young people from both Azerbaijan and Turkey.
Ramil Hasan expressed his pleasure at meeting Prime Minister Üstel again and conveyed greetings from the Azerbaijani Parliament. He emphasized the strong ties between the Azerbaijani and Turkish Cypriot peoples, stating that Turkish Cypriots hold a special place in the hearts of Azerbaijanis. He also reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s commitment to continuing its cooperation with Üstel’s government.
Hasan highlighted the importance of the recently signed cooperation protocol between the New Azerbaijan Party and the National Unity Party (UBP), and shared his excitement about the upcoming youth gathering in the TRNC.
He also thanked Prime Minister Üstel for the warm welcome and confirmed that Üstel is expected to pay a reciprocal visit to Azerbaijan on June 13.
Prime Minister Üstel, in turn, described the signed protocol as an important step toward strengthening the TRNC’s international presence. He underscored the significance of the May 14 youth event, noting that welcoming young delegations from Azerbaijan and Turkey is a meaningful development for North Cyprus.
