Sale of Nestlé SMA Optipro infant formula batch suspended in Cyprus as a precaution

The Primary Health Care Department announced that the Ministry of Health has decided to temporarily suspend the sale of a batch of SMA Optipro 400 g infant formula (Lot No: 52660346AD), imported into the country in a quantity of 240 units.
The decision was made as a precaution following reports in international media about possible recalls of certain batches of Nestlé infant formulas due to suspected toxins.
The department emphasized that after analyzing official statements from Nestlé, reviewing documents, and consulting with the importer, no health risks to the public were identified. Infant formulas of this brand available for sale are considered safe.
At the same time, the specific batch of SMA Optipro 400 g with the indicated lot number has not entered retail sales. The product remains under the control of the Ministry of Health, and all inspections continue with priority given to public health protection.
