On Monday, March 24, a minor earthquake hit Cyprus, with the strongest tremors felt in the Limassol area.

According to the Seismological Service of the Meteorological Department, the earthquake occurred early in the morning at 08:04 AM, around 71 km from the Lefke seismic station. The earthquake, which had a magnitude of 3.2 to 3.7 on the Richter scale, originated at 34.47° N latitude and 32.74° E longitude, at a depth of about 5 km in the sea, 18.9 km northwest of Limassol.

Preliminary reports indicate that there have been no casualties or significant damage. However, local residents reported feeling light tremors.

The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the earthquake may be updated in the coming hours or minutes as seismologists analyze the data and refine their calculations, with further reports expected from other agencies.
