Video with rats in a Famagusta establishment sparked public outrage

Footage showing rats freely moving inside one of the establishments in Gazimagusa is being actively discussed on social media. The video triggered a wave of indignation and once again raised the issue of sanitary conditions and the effectiveness of inspections of food service venues.
In the public sphere, it was recalled that oversight of establishments within the city falls under the responsibility of the municipality; however, many users emphasized that inspections should be carried out regularly and preventively, rather than only after complaints or viral publications.
According to available information, after the video circulated, municipal services conducted an inspection of the establishment. As a result of the inspection, no violations were recorded.
Nevertheless, the situation once again reignited the discussion that sanitary control must be systematic, as it concerns not only the reputation of businesses, but also public health and trust in supervisory authorities.
