Cyprus bids farewell to former US Ambassador Judith Garber today
Former US Ambassador to Cyprus Judith Garber has passed away. The farewell to the diplomat will take place on May 9th at 18:30.
In a statement published on the embassy's social media, it is stated that the American diplomat advocated for a solution based on UN parameters in Cyprus and made efforts towards reconciliation during her tenure.
"Judith Garber tirelessly supported UN efforts to reach a comprehensive settlement of the Cyprus issue and intensified environmental management. She valued her time in Cyprus as a special part of her career," the diplomatic representation's message said.
It is also reported that the farewell ceremony for Judith Garber will take place on Thursday, May 9th, at 18:30 (Cyprus time).
Judith Gale "Judy" Garber served as the US Ambassador to Cyprus from 2019 to 2022. Previously, she served as the US Ambassador to Latvia and Acting Assistant Secretary for Oceans, Environment, and Science at the State Department.
