Maintenance Work Completed at the Church of Coma tou Yalo
The maintenance work on the Church of St. Nicholas in the village of Coma tou Yalo on the Karpas Peninsula in Cyprus has now been completed. This historic church was built in the 15th century and underwent expansion in 1952.
Sotos Ktoris, the co-chair of the bi-communal technical committee for cultural heritage, announced the successful completion of the project.
A team of nature conservation specialists, engineers, and architects from both the Greek-Cypriot and Turkish-Cypriot communities carried out the maintenance work. This project was funded by the European Union and overseen by the United Nations Development Programme.
The Church of St. Nicholas is the latest to have its maintenance completed. Earlier, maintenance was also finished at the Church of Ayios Theodoros in the village of the same name on the Karpas Peninsula.
Just over a month ago, maintenance work was completed at the Church of St. Charalambos, located near the village of Akanthou in the Famagusta district.
