In Northern Cyprus, Nowruz Will Be Celebrated

In the TRNC, the festival of spring arrival, Nowruz, will be celebrated. The solemn events will take place on March 13 at the Atatürk Cultural Center in Nicosia.

This year, the organizers of the Nowruz festival in the TRNC are the Cyprus International University and the Cyprus Center of the Azerbaijani Diaspora with the assistance of the Ministry of Culture of the TRNC.

"Nowruz, which is one of the national holidays in many countries around the world, especially in the fraternal country of Azerbaijan, is a traditional New Year celebration symbolizing spring and the revival of nature," said the rector of the Cyprus International University, Ahmet Alpay Dikmen.

It is noted that the event was organized with the approval of the authorities of the TRNC. It will be attended by the Deputy of the National Assembly of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Elman Nasirov, as well as many government officials and high-ranking officials. Additionally, one of Azerbaijan's prominent artists, Chinara Melikzade, will perform as part of the event.

"We would like to emphasize once again that it will be very pleasant for us to see all our citizens living in the TRNC, especially our students and brothers from Azerbaijan, at the event, which will be celebrated in a festive atmosphere," said the rector.

Nowruz is a holiday of spring arrival and the New Year according to the astronomical solar calendar among Iranian and Turkic peoples. The holiday is an international tradition unrelated to Islamic customs.
